Isomerism
Definition : Compounds that have the same Molecular Formula but differ in physical or chemical properties are called Isomers, and this phenomenon is known as Isomerism. Let two molecules A and B to be isomers, their molecular weights must be identical.
Classification of Isomerism :
Isomerism is broadly divided into two main categories:
Structural (Constitutional) Isomerism: Difference in the arrangement of atoms (connectivity).
Stereoisomerism: Same connectivity, but different spatial arrangement (3D orientation).
